Sophomore Garren O’Keefe scored 18 points and Colfax held visiting Winters to just 10 second half points as the Falcons boys basketball team posted a 41-25 non-league win over the visiting Warriors Tuesday night at Pucci Pavilion.
Colfax, now 11-4 on the season, led Winters 19-14 at halftime before locking up the visitors with strong defensive play over the final two quarters. Matthew Harshman added eight points for the winners. He was followed by Kyle Detwiler with seven points, Brendan Lynn and Austin Weir with three points each and Marc Avila with a pair.
On Monday, in a road game in Garden Valley, Detwiler connected on seven three-point field goals and finished with a game high 24 points to lead the Falcons past Golden Sierra, 45-41. The Falcons led the Grizzlies 25-19 at halftime and 38-27 at the end of three stanzas before holding off the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter.
JVs now 11-1
Colfax’s JVs improved their record to 11-1 with a pair of wins earlier this week. On Monday, Nate Sawi’s 16 points, 13 from Rylan Heimann and 10 by Max Wolff helped the Falcons top Golden Sierra, 50-39. The Falcons then turned back Winters, 63-19, with Sawi tanking 18, Wolff 12 and Anthony Lundberg eight.
