Longtime Colfax resident Maria De La Luz Weber, 87, passed away after a short illness Monday in Grass Valley.
A lifelong Placer County native, she graduated from Colfax Grammar School and Placer High School and was a longtime Bank of America employee in Kings Beach and Colfax.
While in Colfax, Weber was actively involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles “Skip” Weber of Colfax. Also surviving are children, Charles “Skip Jr.” Weber of Auburn, Bonnie Richards (Jim) of Loyalton and Kris Richardson (Jim) of Graeagle.
Weber is also survived by her sister, Veeda Ray, of Santa Rosa and grandchildren, Witney Patrick of Clovis, Stefen Grandi of Seattle and Jessica Richards of Alameda.
The Colfax resident was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Juanita Bravo, and brothers, Jose, Octavio and Silvano.
A memorial service is being planned by the family for a future date.
