Why did you want to join the Placer County Sheriff team?
I wanted to move to Placer County for a better quality of life for my family and I. The schools are great and the housing is much more affordable. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office has the reputation of being a family-oriented law enforcement agency that pays their employees well. The Sheriff’s Office also has a variety of assignments and many specialty positions that make Placer County a premier location to work. Finally, to be able to live, work, and play is icing on the cake!
What do you like most about your job?
Every day is different in this line of work. Using my skills to help the citizens of this county.
What do you like least or find most challenging about your job?
The frustrations of the repeat offenders or people that will not take the help you offer them.
What do you hope to accomplish as a deputy? What are your top priorities?
Priority one is getting to know how the Placer County Sheriff’s Office works. Second is to mesh with my new co-workers. Third is to get my primary duty assignment and work it to perfection.
What advice would you give to those who may be considering a job in law enforcement?
Finish college first! Do your homework on this profession before getting into it. Come out on ride-alongs and tour the jail. It is also a good idea to take a few administration of justice courses at the local community college.
Where would you like to see yourself in 10 years?
I would like to promote to the rank of sergeant in 10 years.
