Awards rolling in for Placer County wineries
Placer County Vintners Association wineries continue to produce award-winning wines. Five wineries in Placer County showcased their wares in the 2018 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition and were rewarded with medals.
The participating wineries: Bear River, Le Casque, Lone Buffalo, Secret Ravine and Wise Villa competed in a wide variety of categories that resulted in three awards for Best of Class — Varietal, nine silver and 22 bronze medals.
“We have a lot of diversity and individuality among our various wineries, and the wines that come from our locally-grown grapes,” said Josh Huntsinger, Placer County agricultural commissioner. “Each of our wineries has its own unique micro-climate, which is part of what makes our wine industry great. We are thrilled to share the fruits of their labors with a broader California audience.”
