Pioneer Day

5k Run Sunday


The Colfax High cross-country program will sponsor the Pioneer Day 5K Run in Meadow Vista this Sunday, June 4. This year’s event will be the 40th annual run.

Registration for the race, which is held in conjunction with Pioneer Days in Meadow Vista, begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Meadow Vista Fire Department. The run is set to start at 9 a.m. Pre-registration for the run is $20, which includes a T-shirt, aid on the course and post-race refreshments. Race day registration is $25.


Colfax High youth soccer camp


Colfax High’s boys’ and girls’ soccer programs will combine forces to host the 2017 Colfax Soccer Camp set for June 13 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily at the Colfax High School soccer field.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 through incoming ninth-grade students. Cost for the camp is $55 if paid today and $65 at the day of the camp.


Sibling discounts are available at $40 for second and third child and $25 for fourth.

Ed Fontana Memorial Golf Classic

The Colfax Recreation Association will sponsor its inaugural Ed Fontana Memorial Classic golf tournament on Saturday, June 10 at Auburn Valley County Club.

The tournament will consist of a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start with check-in at 8 a.m. and golf beginning at 9 a.m. Entry for the tournament is $125 per player, which includes golf, cart, range balls, gift bag, post-tournament dinner and chances to win great raffle prizes.

Lady  Falcons Volleyball Camp


Colfax High’s 2017 Lady Falcon Girls’ Volleyball Camp is set for June 19 to 22 at Colfax High School.

According to camp director Haley Biles, the camp is open to girls in incoming fourth- through ninth-grades. Cost for the camp with pre-registration is $75. Camp fee at the door will be $80.

Sessions for girls in fourth- through sixth-grades will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. for girls in seventh- through ninth-grades. Camp attendees should bring shoes, kneepads and a water bottle.
