Placer County’s elections chief is inviting voters in to watch Election Day on Tuesday in person.

County Clerk Ryan Ronco’s office has issued a call to all interested voters to observe Election Day proceedings on Tuesday.

That could include seeing staff processing vote-by-mail ballots at the North Auburn elections nerve center or a visit to one or more polling places.

Ronco suggests that people call ahead to his office to ensure election activities are being performed during the time frame they plan drop in at.

“It is the goal of the elections office to have our election as transparent as possible,” Ronco said.

On Election Day, observer panel activities will start just after 8 p.m. at the elections division office at 2956 Richardson Drive in North Auburn. Participants are being encouraged to arrive before 8 p.m. to witness the closing of the polls. There will be a short presentation on election night processes and post-election activities, followed by a question-and-answer session.

“I believe those who have participated in the past have come away with a greater understanding and knowledge of the election process,” Ronco said.

People interested in observing election activities are asked to contact Stephanie Selby at 530-886-5696. Election results will be posted at
