Jr. Falcon sign-ups Saturday

The Colfax Jr. Falcons youth football and cheer program, open to players and cheerleaders ages 8 to 14, is currently holding online registrations for the 2017 season. The Jr. Falcons will also hold walk-in signups this Saturday, June 17 at Colfax Pizza Factory from noon to 4 p.m.

 The Jr. Falcons program is open to players and cheerleaders ages 8 to 14. Divisions include Jr. Peewees, Peewee, Jr. Midgets and Midgets.

Online registration can be done at The Jr. Falcons have also slated another walk-in session on Saturday, July 15 at the Pizza Factory, again from noon to 4 p.m.

The Falcons are changing divisions in Sacramento Youth Football League play. Colfax will be a member of the Golden Empire League, along with Bella Vista, Golden Sierra, Mesa Verde, River City, Union Mine and league newcomers Marysville and East Nicolaus.

Falcon volleyball camp next week

Colfax High’s 2017 Lady Falcon Girls Volleyball Camp is set for next week, June 19 to 22, at Colfax High School.

According to camp director Haley Biles, the camp is open to girls in incoming fourth- through ninth-grades. Cost for the camp with pre-registration is $75. Camp fee at the door will be $80.

Sessions for girls in fourth- through sixth-grades will be from 5 to 7 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. for girls in seventh- through ninth-grades.

Registration forms are available at local area middle and elementary schools and by also going online at the Colfax High School website and clicking on athletics and going forward to the summer camps link.

Camp attendees should bring shoes, kneepads and water bottle.

Lady Falcons Basketball Camp


This year’s Colfax High Lady Falcons Basketball Camp is slated for June 19 to 22 with times of 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. daily.

The camp will provide both individual and group instruction in the fundamentals of basketball with an emphasis on dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork and defense.  There will also be game play, tournament play and individual contests.

The camp is open to girls entering fourth- through eighth-grades with pre-registration cost set at $90. Players can also register at the door, starting at 8:30 a.m. on June 19 for $100.

All campers will receive a Lady Falcons Camp T-shirt. Registration forms are available at area elementary schools or by visiting the Colfax High School website and going to the summer sports camp link.
