With an eye on a growing market, River Valley Community Bancorp of Yuba City is expanding into Auburn.

With federal regulatory approval in its pocket and a successful 12 years of business experience, Bancorp subsidiary River Valley Community Bank is opening a branch in Auburn.

John Jelavich, the Yuba City-based Bancorp’s CEO, said the new branch opening soon on Lincoln Way is a natural fit for the Auburn area.

The bank has grown steadily since its inception by offering a local, relationship-banking experience that has been valued by customers, Jelavich said. The bank has consistently received high customer-satisfaction ratings and has a “4-Star Superior” recommendation from Bauer Financial.

“We believe our brand of banking, along with our competitive products and services will be well-received by local businesses, nonprofits and consumers who desire the community banking experience we deliver,” Jelavich said.

The bank is primarily focused on business and commercial banking but also offers personal banking services.

“Our tagline is ‘Local banking done right,’” Jelavich said. “It all comes back to being local and serving our customers.”

The branch opening will initially create four new banking jobs in Auburn. River Valley currently employs 34 people.

The Auburn branch will be located at 905 Lincoln Way in Downtown Auburn and is expected to open later this summer. That will give River Valley Community Bancorp three branches. The others are in Yuba City and Grass Valley. The bank first opened for business in Yuba City in 2006 and opened a second branch in Grass Valley in 2013.
