E-waste donations add up for local nonprofits

-A +A

Donations of e-waste by locals have turned into cash that is benefiting Colfax nonprofits through the electronic waste recycling program that Sierra Self Storage started last spring. The Colfax company holds the recycling event on an ongoing basis as a fundraiser for local organizations.

Last fall, Sierra Self Storage presented a check in the amount of $800 to the Colfax Elementary School APT for its student programs.

On June 28, during the Chocolate, Wine and Art Indulgence fundraiser for the Sierra Vista Community Center, Sierra Self Storage general manager Gordon Goodrich presented a check for $600 to Sierra Vista from funds earned through the recycling program.

Unwanted electronics can be dropped off at Sierra Self Storage between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 160 Sherwood Court, in Colfax.
