Loomis 'gas-pump' rage; Rash of Rocklin, Roseville battery thefts; More

Information comes from Placer County Sheriff’s Office reports. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

July 25

Mitchell Anthony Meredith, 58, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of a controlled substance. The arrest took place in the 10500-block Industrial Avenue of Roseville. Deputies recovered a 2000 convertible that had been reported stolen the same day. The arrest came after a vehicle stop.

A lawn mower was stolen from the front yard of a house in the 1200-block of North Auburn’s Live Oak Lane. the crime occurred at about noon.

Andrew Lawrence Wallace, 27, of Citrus Heights was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and possession of a meth pipe. The arrest came after the vehicle Wallace was in was pulled over for speeding at Sierra College Boulevard and King Ranch Road in Granite Bay.

July 24

Alta Repair Center, 3883 Cincinnati Ave. in Rocklin, reported 16 batteries were removed from semi-trucks parked with the business. The thefts took place between 4:40 and 5 p.m. Value of the missing batteries was estimated at $2,000.

Roseville Storage in the 9800-block of Roseville’s Antelope Road reported 20 batteries were stolen off a pallet. Entry to the property was gained by cutting a hole in a wire fence. Value of the missing batteries was pegged at $800.

Steven Craig Higley, 61, of North Auburn was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of pepper spray. The arrest in the 1600-block Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn came during a probation search.

July 23

Hafed Darcheablabi, 38, of Fresno, was arrested at Auburn Ravine Road and Interstate 80 in Bowman on suspicion of possession of meth. The arrest followed a vehicle stop and probation search.

July 22

Rebecca Merson, a 24-year-old transient, was arrested on North Auburn’s Locksley Lane on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Osman Noel Cardona, 31, of North Auburn was cited on suspicion of possession of meth and possession of two meth pipes. The citation took place just after midnight at Halsey Forebay, 1200 Christian Valley Road in the Christian Valley area north of Auburn.

July 21

A license was reported stolen off a vehicle parked in the 9400-block of Granite Bay’s Swan Lake Drive.

A vehicle parked in the 100-block Kellie Lane in North Auburn had gas siphoned.

Placer RV Storage, 3939 Cincinnati Ave. in Rocklin, had two bikes stolen from an office in an overnight break-in. Total value of the loss was $3,000.

July 20

Ulta Beauty, in the 2700-block Bell Road of North Auburn, reported two women picked up several store items and walked away without paying. The two left in a red Mazda sedan. The theft happened between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Value of the missing property was not known.

A note on the window and a keyed auto were the only evidence left by a vandal at 2700 Bell Road in North Auburn. Damage to the vehicle was an estimated $1,000. The keying — and the leaving of the note — were believed to have taken place between 7 and 9 p.m.

Lori Ann Abbott, a 54-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after refusing to leave Joe Caribe’s restaurant, 13470 Lincoln Way in Bowman.

James Allen Turney, a 37-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing outside the Dollar Tree in North Auburn after being previously cited and warned.

Maleena Lorraine Martinez, 22, of Citrus Heights was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The arrest took place at Auburn Boulevard and Cirby Way in Roseville.

July 19

A license plate was reported stolen off a vehicle in the 5700-block Francis Drive of Loomis.

July 18

A gym bag was reported stolen from a locked locker in the 1200-block Racquet Club Drive in North Auburn.

July 17

Two people were cited at 2:20 a.m. in the Colfax area at Old Grass Valley Highway and Highway 174. Kelly James Thomas, a 43-year-old Grass Valley resident, was cited on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Amanda Lynn Giddings, 30, also of Grass Valley, was cited on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 13

A 57-year-old Manteca woman left her smart phone near the blackjack table at rural Lincoln’s Thunder Valley Casino. In the two to three minutes it was left unattended it was stolen. Value of the phone was $800. The woman said she was able to make contact with someone on the phone and was told by the person on the other end of the call that it was purchased for $150 on eBay. Then the woman lost contact with the phone’s new owner.

July 10

A man in his 30s is reported to have jumped on the hood of a car at the 76 gas station in the 3100-block Loomis’ Boyington Road and then drove off in a tan-colored Infinity. Damage was reported to have been minimal.
