A parade of food trucks will pull up to Auburn’s Recreation Park for the Food Truck Fiesta in a few weeks.

Not only will there be around 15 different trucks offering everything from chicken tacos to curry bowls, there will be music, a beer garden serving up local brews, a wine bar and a “giant” kid zone.

Music will be performed by Swamp Zen, described as a jam band playing a medley of funk, Latin, techno, reggae and jazz. Bob Woods Swampbilly will be opening for Swamp Zen and they characterizes their music style as blues, zydeco and rockabilly.

Last year around 1,000 attended the event.

Sheryl Petersen, recreation services manager for Auburn Recreation District, attributes the success of the event to its convenience and the hearty appetite of Auburn area residents.

“Everyone likes to eat, some people like to cook, nobody likes to do dishes,” Peterson said.

There will also be vendor booths with demonstrations and exhibits.

Some seating will be available but guests can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to sit in the park’s grass and enjoy dinner and music in the shade.

Peterson said she likes seeing the community come to the event and enjoy themselves.

“Love that people who come to the event have such a great time,” she said.

This event is a fundraiser for the Auburn Bike Park. Purchases at the food trucks and vendors will support the facility.

A common response from those who have attended say, “Great event, can we have more of these? Love the music,” Peterson said.
