The Auburn Symphony was presented with a grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation Aug. 16. A check was presented by U.S. Bank AVP and Project Manager Kelly Fulfer, AVP and Branch Manager Constantine Perakis, and Vice President and District Manager Patricia Farley.
Auburn Symphony members present to receive the grant check were Board Members Joanne Valentine and Audrey Mueller, Interim Executive Director Anne Brown, Business Manager Jennifer Sanders, and Symphony Goes to School Representative Sue Larkins. The generous donation of $3,200 will help fund the Auburn Symphony’s Symphony Goes to School program.
The Symphony is celebrating its 20th year of offering this unique program to local elementary schools and area preschools. A group of 20 Auburn Symphony musicians, under the baton of Symphony Goes to School conductor Paolo Reyes, bring a musical repertoire to youth in the community. The group represents the instrumentation of the entire orchestra and brings their musical knowledge to the entire school population in an interactive assembly.
The Auburn Symphony is currently offers this program to 14 local elementary schools and 10 local preschools, reaching over 4,000 students.
