Add veterans' names to project

-A +A
Many thanks to Martha Garcia and Nancy Hagman for their excellent articles mentioning the Colfax Veterans Memorial Project in the Colfax Record. I am writing to emphasize that the Project wants your input! If you have a loved one who was a veteran from the Colfax area, including Iowa Hill, Gold Run, Dutch Flat, and Weimar, please pick up, and return when completed, at the Colfax Record or the Colfax Library or download it from and let us know. We especially want to hear from you if the veteran doesn't have an official military marker yet. While these markers are free from the Veterans Administration, they need to be requested and the Colfax VFW will do that if they know who needs a marker. Also, let us know about veterans from the local area who are not buried locally ? either cremated, or buried in a memorial cemetery such as Arlington, or lost at sea, etc. In addition to creating a virtual memorial to your loved one, we can leave a personal message on your behalf if you wish. If you include a stamped self-addressed envelope when you mail in or drop off the form, a copy of your loved one's memorial will be mailed to you. Robin Yonash, Colfax Veterans Memorial Project
