A big rig reported to be carrying baked goods caught fire on westbound Interstate 80 near Colfax on Monday morning. The blaze incinerated the tractor trailer's contents after igniting at about 4 a.m. No injuries were reported and traffic both ways was moving through the fire scene near Canyon Way by mid-morning. The fire spread to nearby brush but firefighters quickly extinguished the expanding blaze before it was able to take hold. - Journal Staff Report
