Katie Bock saved her best track meet for her last of the season, as she’s the Delta River League freshman-sophomore champion in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs.
Bock claimed the 1,600 Wednesday at Sheldon High with a personal-best time of 5 minutes, 27.98 seconds, breaking a meet record set last year of her teammate Muna Alhamad. Bock saved some gas in the tank throughout the race, as her split times included a 70-second final lap, some 14 seconds faster than her third lap.
Later in the day, Bock won the 3,200 with a time of 12:00.13, also a meet record by five seconds. Capping off her day, she opened the 4x400-meter relay with a 69-second lap.
Molly Mort placed third in the discus with a toss of 73 feet, her best effort by 15 feet. Alana Troung also placed fifth in the 100 hurdles in 20.24.
Tayari Reed led the boys, as he placed second in the long jump with a leap of 17-11, while the 4x100-meter relay team of Chris Nowell, Reed, John Shaffell and Riley Teodoro took third in 46.09.
