Six different players found the back of the net March 21 for the Colfax High girls soccer team, and the end result of the offensive outburst for the Lady Falcons was a lopsided win.
Scoring four times off corner kicks – including a pair directly by Makenzy Thilmony and Brittany Thomas – the Lady Falcons scored three times in the first half and five more after intermission in making short work of visiting Forest Lake Christian, 8-0.
"Overall it was a good match for us," said Colfax coach Lefty Wilks. "We're starting to do some good stuff and it's fun to watch."
Wilks especially had praise for fullback Brittany Thomas who scored a goal and also assisted one another.
"Brittany did a great job for us," Wilks said. "She was definitely the player of the game."
The match was Colfax's final non-league contest before the Lady Falcons open defense of their Pioneer Valley League title on April 1 when they play at Lincoln.
In Thursday's win, which moved Colfax's season record to 4-3-3, Emilee Klug and Katy Thomas each scored a pair of goals. Meanwhile, Kate Garcia, Amber Tobiasz, Brittany Thomas and Thilmony all added one score apiece. Kelly Harris was also credited with three assists in the match, and goalie Lindsay Platt also played well.
