Gary Howe suffers from dementia and has vision problems
AUBURN CA - The Placer County Sheriff's Office has launched a search and rescue operation in the Clipper Gap area to find a 71-year-old man with dementia. Gary Howe, who lives in the Clipper Gap community about three miles northeast of Auburn, was last seen around 5 p.m. Sunday on Clipper Gap Road, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Dena Erwin said Monday. As well as dementia, Howe - who has shoulder-length whitish-gray hair and a full beard - has vision problems, she said. Before he disappeared, Howe was seen wearing a blue shirt and blue slacks. He is 5 feet 11 inches and weighs about 160 pounds. Anyone who has information on Howe's whereabouts or anyone who has found the man is being asked to call 911 or the Sheriff's Office at (530) 886-5375. The Sheriff’s Office alerted Clipper Gap area residents by phone to ask them to check property and outbuildings Monday for their missing neighbor.
