The Soroptimists will run their 24th annual Old Fashioned Soup Kitchen from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Community Center, 55 School St. The Lions Parade of Lights is at 6:30 p.m. There will also be the annual tree lighting, visits with Santa for photo taking, a bonfire, and vendor booths. A Sierra Vista Art Center art show and Garden Club craft boutique will also take place at the community center. The 32nd Annual Family Christmas Project, sponsored by Soroptimist International of Colfax will be held at the Sierra Vista Community Center, 55 School St. Distribution hours will be 9 a.m. to noon for the food bags and toys for the children. Applications for the Christmas baskets are available at the Colfax Library, Colfax post office, Marson’s, Community Gift and Thrift, US Bank and Colfax Record. Those who are not applicants but would to make a donation can mail a check to the Colfax Christmas Project, Soroptimist International of Colfax, P.O. Box 475, Colfax, CA 95713. New and gently used coats and warm winter wear to be given away Dec. 10 are being collected by The Gold Country Lioness. Children’s and infant wear is especially needed.
