SATURDAY, NOV. 12 Sierra Vista Saturday free classes and free café begin with a free breakfast at 9 a.m., sessions on healthy cooking at 10 a.m., followed by free lunch at noon, a facilities discussion on community needs and options at 12:30 p.m., and ending with a session on organic gardening at 1:30 p.m. This is the last session; topics will include basic bird watching, primitive ceramics, Zumba chair, stress reduction through meditation and movement, nutrition and cooking, organic gardening, and the final forum on community needs and opportunities. See Thursday Performances of the murder-mystery play “Death of a Doornail” have been postponed to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, and 2 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Dinner will be served after the first act of each evening performance and dessert will be served during the afternoon performance. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit homeless programs in the Colfax area and other projects. Advance tickets are $15 for the evening performances and $10 for the afternoon performance; there is an additional $5 charge for tickets purchased at the door. Seating is limited. FRIDAY, NOV. 29 The Friends of the Meadow Vista Library will have its Fall Used Book Sale from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, and 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Meadow Vista Library, 16981 Placer Hills Road, Meadow Vista. Great used books and media will be on bargain sale for $1 or less. Wednesday paperback books are offered at $1 per bag. All proceeds benefit the Meadow Vista Library.
