Entries are now open for the Sierra Vista Art Center Railroad Days Art Exhibition and Sale, to be held Oct. 1 and 2 at the Sierra Vista Community Center during the Colfax Railroad Days celebration. The first in a series of four sessions of a Landscape Design School – sponsored by the Colfax Garden Club, California Garden Clubs and National Garden Clubs – will be held Sept. 10 and 11 in Colfax. Each session is a one-hour class, with testing following for those who wish to attend for credit as a landscape designer. Instructors will be Steve and Lynelle McNiel, both American Society of Landscape Architects members from the University of California, Davis. The college-level classes are open to the public.
