COLFAX — Senior Eric MacKenstadt scored a pair of penalty kick goals and Colfax High tied Rosemont 2-2 in a nonleague game Thursday afternoon. “It was a good game,” said Colfax head coach Robert Ruzette. “It showed us some of the points we still have to work on, like first touch and playing to open space.” The Falcons (0-0-1) travel to Tahoe City to take on North Tahoe Tuesday at 4 p.m. GOLF ROSEVILLE — Taylor Evans fired a team-best 52 for the Placer High girls golf team Thursday, but it wasn’t enough as Woodcreek outshot the Hillmen 271-289 in the non-league season opener at Timber Creek Golf Course. Sydney Ryan shot a 54 for Placer, followed by Mary Hogan (58), Alyssa Jones (61) and Rachel Morgan (64). Medalist Dana Vasko had a 46 for the Timberwolves. The Hillmen take on Roseville High in another nonleague match Tuesday afternoon at Diamond Oaks Golf Course.
