Colfax’s Lady Falcons stayed in the hunt for a playoff berth by going on the road Tuesday afternoon and defeating Foothill, 17-2.  The win for the Lady Falcons, who entered the day tied with Placer and Lincoln for second place in the Pioneer Valley League, raised Colfax’s league slate to 4-2.

“We hit the ball and got the job done today,” said Colfax coach Mimi Scott. “Foothill is struggling right now but we stayed focused and played our game.”

Both Nelly Steinhoff and Steffany Dunn went 3 for 3 at the plate and combined to drive in five runs for the winners. On the mound, Jenna Patterson worked the first three innings before giving way to Casey Richards.

Colfax, now 11-8 overall on the season, plays at Placer Thursday.
