Colfax tennis gets revenge vs. Center

Colfax High’s tennis team avenged a prior loss.

The Falcons flipped the script on Center Thursday, earning a 5-4 Pioneer Valley League victory after previously losing to the Cougars 5-4.

The match came down to the No. 1 boys singles contest, which senior captain Drew Detwiler won 4-6, 7-6, 6-1.

Drew’s brother, Kyle, won in No. 2 boys singles, 6-2, 6-3.

The Falcons also swept the boys doubles with teams of Chris Harshman and Conner Havens (6-4, 6-2) and John Crane and Taylor Dorsey (6-1, 6-0).

Crane and Dorsey improved to 8-0 on the year in No. 2 boys doubles matches.

In No. 1 doubles on the girls side, Colfax’s Justine Hanson and Alex Noble scored a 7-5, 6-4 triumph.

Colfax, tied for second with Center at 5-3, has two matches left before playoffs. The top three seeds all advance to the playoffs.
