Colfax Thrashers Still Going Strong

Youth Wrestling Group Fares Well This Season

The Colfax Thrashers are alive and well. Contrary to rumors circulating this past wrestling season, the Colfax-base youth wrestling program is doing fine in the spring tournament season. Thanks to support from the "Green Machine" , a non-profit organization that supports the Thrashers, the Colfax grapplers are enjoyning another good season. The parents, coaches, and manager Vince Corralejo are very excited to get the word out about the wrestling program. Many of the wrestlers attended the recent State Championships last weekend at Natomas High School. "The team did great, they have worked really hard and I am very proud of them all", reflected coach Corralejo Trevor Searcy took first place in his weight division. Jaycob Labrecque and Candace Corralejo both took third in their weight divisions. Coach Vinny also took first place in his division. According to the team's manager, "Vinny has been a stand out wrestler his whole senior year. Through coaching the youth program he is able to give back to the sport he has such a passion for." Vinny plans to wrestle for Sierra College next year. Members of the Thrasher coaching team are: assistant coach Jon Lyman, head coach Vinny Corralejo, assistant coach and Mason Banish. Team manager is Vince Corralejo. Team members include Steven Boeger, ,Carson Banish, Brandon Boeger, Trevor Searcy, Candace Corralejo, Jaycob Labrecque, Connor Lafountain, Nathan Lopez Jones, Mason Banish, Jacob Colon, Jackson Meadow, Jacob Brown, Jacob Schwartz, Trent Detmer, Wyatt Wolf, Cruz Suarez, Ben Schwartz, Sam Wren, Dylan Colon, and Jacob Stuck.
