U.S. Reps. Tom McClintock and Wally Herger will conduct a forum in Auburn on Monday to discuss issues swirling around waste treatment in rural districts. The forum is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday in the Placer County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 175 Fulweiler Ave. McClintock’s office issued a statement Thursday saying issues to be discussed include the adverse impact of environmental regulation relating to fines, fees, litigation and resulting financial harm to local communities. “In the very near future, Congress will have to resolve these issues, thus it is essential to hear first from those impacted by the underlying regulatory burdens,” the release said. As well as McClintock, R-Roseville, and Herger, R-Chico, representatives from federal and state regulatory agencies including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Regional Water Quality Board are slated to take part. – Gus Thomson
