Lady Falcons split pair
Colfax’s Lady Falcons volleyball team split a pair of regular season-ending Pioneer Valley League matches last week but it was still enough to earn the Colfax spikers a berth to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section’s playoffs.
Finishing in third place at 6-4 in the PVL, the Lady Falcons will vie in the Div. IV section playoffs (enrollment 501-1150) that will begin on Friday night at home sites.
Colfax dispatched Center 25-15, 25-10, 25-11 last Thursday with strong efforts by Maddie Ittner, Cassie Harrison and Stephanie Scott.
The Lady Falcons then dropped a 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 match to co PVL champion Bear River on Tuesday. Despite the loss, Falcons coach Vicky Satterlee said, “It was a very strong swinging match, with good hitting and good serving. I was proud of my girls.”
Ittner (12 kills, three blocks, three aces), Sophie Satterlee (26 assists, two aces) and Stephanie Scott (five kills, three aces, three block) all played well for the Lady Falcons.
