Two men were arrested after one spit on a deputy and another smashed a glass on someone’s head in a drunken Squaw Valley brawl.
Woodrow Wilson Taylor, of Tahoe City, and Mark Anthony Valko, of Susanville, both 22, were arrested early Jan. 29 after a fight was reported at the Cornice Cantina at Squaw Valley, according to Sgt. John Giovannini with the Placer Sheriff’s Office.
Valko was seen running from officers as they arrived on scene just after midnight. Once detained, Valko advanced on officers challenging them to fight and spitting on them, Giovannini said. Witnesses also saw Valko breaking out a nearby vehicle window. He was arrested for assault on a peace officer and vandalism.
Wilson was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon when a victim on scene was found bleeding profusely from a head wound. Witnesses said Wilson had struck the victim with a drinking glass.
