Falcon Boys Win Again; Brace For Challenge
PACIFIC GROVE - After an easy opening night win over the hosts of the Breaker Classic here Friday, things are expected to get a little tougher here Saturday for the Colfax High boys basketball team.
On Friday, the Falcons improved to 5-1 on the young season by racing past Pacific Grove, 60-33. Colfax shot out to a 25-5 lead after a quarter of action and never looked back in drubbing the Breakers who fell to 0-2 on the season.
However, the Falcons figure to be in a little stiffer game today against Palma of Salinas who defeated Sequoia of Redwood City, 61-43, in the other tournament game. Palma was led in their win by 6-6 senior guard Noah Allen, a UCLA commit, who scored 18 points. The Chieftans also have two other starters on their front line that are 6-5 and 6-5.
In Friday's win, Colfax was led by Will Buell with 13 points, Wade Lewis with nine and Matt Larson and Jordan Balser with eight points each. A tota of eleven Colfax players reached the scoring column.
