Colfax High’s boys basketball team beat the weather to get over Donner Summit Tuesday and, once off the bus after the long trip, took its frustrations out on host Incline.
Placing four players in double-digit scoring, the Falcons jumped out to a big lead on the hosts and cruised past the Highlanders, 72-43.
“We jumped out to a 20-3 lead and for the most part played pretty well,” said Colfax coach Mike O’Connell. “We had 10 players score tonight and that’s always nice to have.”
Colfax, now 4-1 on the season, led 43-20 at halftime and extended its lead to 66-30 after three periods. Both Will Buell and Matt Larson checked in with 12 points each for the Falconbs, while Paul Ramseth and Jordan Balser added 10 points apiece.
Completing Colfax’s scoring were Kevin Zachman with nine points, Taylor Dorsey with six, Dave Campbell with four, Cole Joyce with three and Michael Wilson, Christopher Harshman and Wade Lewis, all with one bucket apiece.
Colfax now heads to the Breaker Classic in Pacific Grove Friday. The Falcons will play host Pacific Grove on Friday and Palma on Saturday at 2 p.m.
