Falcons make all-PVL team

Colfax High School’s boys basketball team placed three players on the all-Pioneer Valley League team which was selected recently by the league’s coaches. Landing on the first all-PVL squad were senior Chase Mosier, who was also named as the league’s Most Valuable Player, senior guard Austin Oberg and senior center Ben Buell. PVL champion Center High School also placed three players on the first team. They included seniors Chad Haysbert and Daniel Smith and junior Christopher Smith. Foothill High School also had three players tagged to the first squad. The Mustangs selected included senior Fidel Cardenas and juniors Michael Bryson and Kelly Bender. Rounding out the first team selections were senior guards Zach Welz from Bear River High and Josh Turney from Placer High. Earning honorable mention nods were senior Austin Brown of Colfax, senior Darreni Centi and junior Cody Riggs from Placer, Foothill junior David Sanders and sophomore Anthony Williams. Other honorable mention choices included Lincoln senior Christian Perkins, Center seniors Andrew Zan and Devon Taubodo, and Bear River junior Brandon Wooner and sophomore Justin Beskeen. Ray Gagnon of Center was selected as the PVL’s “Coach of the Year.”
