Falcons Roll Past San Juan At Div. IV Challenge
EL DORADO - Playing for the first time since moving into the area's Top 20 rankings, the Colfax High boys basketball team impressed Friday in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Div. IV Challenge.
Placing 12 different players into the scoring column and using a 24-3 third quarter points exchange as their impetus, the Falcons stormed past San Juan, 76-49, to improve its season record to 10-2. Colfax will play its second game in the round robin challenge today at 3 p.m. against Calaveras.
In Friday's win, the Falcons shot out to a 36-28 lead by halftime but then overwhelmed the Spartans with their strong third quarter.
Colfax was paced on offense by Will Buell's 23 points, 11 more from Paul Ramseth, nine by Taylor Dorsey and seven from Matt Larson.
Also scoring for the Falcons were Jordan Balser and Kevin Zachman with six points each, Michael Wilson with four, Ryan Glazner with three Dave Campbell, Trevor Cobabe and Jack Rogers with tweo each and Cole Joyce with one.
Following Saturday's game, Colfax is idle until taking on Del Campo (9-3) at 6:30 p.m. in the first round of the Kendall Arnett Tournament at Placer on Dec. 27. Del Campo picked up an impressive win of their ownon Friday be defeating Oak Ridge, 67-61.
