Two small fires on July 4 charred approximately one acre in the area of Placer Hills Road and Naturewood Drive near Meadow Vista. “Power lines were down in the area but we don’t know if that was the cause," said Cal Fire Captain Rich Fuqua. Cal Fire’s response to the afternoon blaze included hand crews and several aircraft. Placer Hills Fire Department personnel and equipment and a water tender from Placer County Fire also responded, Fuqua said. No structures were threatened and there were no injuries. – Staff report
