For years, Friends of the Library volunteers have hauled heavy boxes from one location to another for their book sales. Now the used book collection has a permanent place. Located in the parking lot of the library, the Tuff shed, purchased with Friends’ community fundraising dollars, will be opening its doors on a regular basis. Monthly book sales will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month (weather permitting). Typically the Friends do not price books, relying instead on the generous donations of shoppers. Proceeds benefit the Colfax Library, supporting the children’s programs and the purchase of library resources such as books, CD’s and DVD’s. In light of recent budget cuts, these dollars have become even more critical. Used books can be delivered to the library, 2 W. Church Street in downtown Colfax. For more information, call 346-2218.
