Colfax High’s JV and frosh football teams continued on the win trail last week with a pair of victories. On Friday, the JV squad played a strong game from start to finish and emerged with a 35-0 blanking of Foothill. On Thursday, the Frosh returned home after three road games and turned back Mesa Verde, 33-8. Colfax’s freshman will resume Pioneer Valley League play today with a 5:30 p.m. game at Placer. The Colfax JVs will play Placer in Auburn Friday at 5:30 p.m. Here’s a recap of last week’s games: Colfax JVs 35, Foothill 0 – Michael Wilson continued his strong passing by connecting on 11 of 13 passing aerials for 266 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Mustangs. Now 6-1 overall on the season, the Falcons also received touchdown runs from Tanner Kane and Jake Mederios, while Chas Reisinger and Kyle Bryant had scoring receptions of 25 and 55 yards, respectively. Bryant and Chris Harshman both had pass receptions for the winners, while Jack Baldoni led the defense with an interception. Colfax Frosh 33, Mesa Verde 8 – Logan Hurst fired a pair of scoring passes to Carrick Hoffart, and Sam Lahaie and Avo Shahabian each ran for touchdowns as the Falcons improved to 7-0 on the season. Having good defensive games for the Falcons were Dylan Starder, Jeromey Cabodi, Alex Tobiasz, Dylan Strader and Pat Beninga.
