Bouncing back from its first loss of the season, the Colfax Falcons’ JV football team played one of its best all-around games to date last Friday in Davis. Receiving a balanced push on offense through the air and on the ground, and a smothering job on the defensive side of the ball, the Falcons led from start to finish in a 31-7 rout of the host Blue Devils. Colfax quarterback Michael Wilson connected on 12 of 22 passes for 171 yards and also ran for a pair of touchdowns to help the Falcons build a 21-0 lead by halftime and never look back. Tanner Kane and Kyle Bryant both added scoring runs for the Falcons, who are now 3-1 on the season. Both Jack Baldoni and Christopher Harshman also stood out with four catches apiece for Colfax. The Falcons play at Wheatland at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Colfax Frosh 26, Davis 6 – Colfax snapped a 6-6 halftime deadlock with a strong second half to pick up the tough road win last Thursday. Avo Shahabian got the scoring started for the Falcons on the game’s first play when he went 70 yards for a touchdown. Shahabian also added a second-half touchdown, as did quarterback Logan Hurst who tallied on runs of 30 and one yard. Colfax coach Bob Luke singled out the play of Brian Little, Dalton Bannister and Carrick Hoffart (interception) as keys on defense. Colfax, 4-0, on the season, plays Thursday at Galt at 5:30 p.m.
