Knights of Columbus to kick off fundraising drive
Proceeds benefit People with Intellectual Disabilities
The 65,000 members of the Knights of Columbus in California and their volunteers will conduct their annual People with Intellectual Disabilities fundraising drive Friday through Sunday, Oct. 19-21, in Colfax and other communities across the state. Proceeds from the drive assist people with intellectual disabilities so that they can develop and be productive contributing members of society. According to Bob Joost, of the local Knights of Columbus, the organization urges citizens everywhere to support this important fundraising activity by making a donation and “every nickel, dime and dollar is needed and will be deeply appreciated.” Knights of Columbus volunteers will be easily visible because of the bright yellow aprons they will be wearing and the canisters and candies they will be carrying. In Colfax, the Colfax Council will coordinate the Knights of Columbus Drive. To learn more or to help with the drive, contact Joost, chairman of the local drive, at 401-3274.
