In a match-up of former Pioneer Valley League rivals, Colfax’s Lady Falcons made quick work of El Dorado in an easy three-game sweep. Playing well on both sides of the net, the Lady Falcons sent the Cougars back to Placerville with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-13 drubbing. “We beat a pretty good team,” Colfax coach Vicky Satterlee said. “It was a fine, all-around effort by our girls.” Colfax, which will open PVL play next Wednesday by hosting Foothill, received a big assist night from Haley Biles who passed out 39 assists and served up 16 points. Also playing well were Iona Lofrano with 17 kills and five blocks, Erica Heikila with 13 kills, nine digs and 11 points, and Kelsey Whittet with 17 points and five blocks. In earlier non-league action at Rosemont, Colfax swept past the Sacramento school 25-14, 25-3, 25-13. Heikila led a balanced Falcon attack by serving up 27 points which included six aces.
