Katie Cassilagio’s 10 points led a balanced Colfax High girls basketball team’s scoring attack Tuesday night as the Lady Falcons posted a 50-30 Pioneer Valley League win over visiting Lincoln.
The win raised Colfax’s PVL record to 7-4 and its overall slate to 16-10.
The win also cemented a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section playoff berth for the Lady Falcons, who were in the No. 13 spot in the most recent Div. IV Power Ratings, which were released Tuesday.
Colfax, which closes its regular season tonight at Placer, will open the Div. IV playoffs on the road next Tuesday with possible opponents Legrand, Argonaut and or Hilmar waiting in the wings.
In Tuesday’s game, Colfax led 9-8 after a quarter but then extended its margin to 25-16 by halftime and coasted home to the win.
Following in the offensive column for the Lady Falcons were Audrey Lewis with nine points, Michelle Walker with seven, Cassandra Campbell and Lindsay Larson with six points each and Lindsay Biles and Cathy Hinrichs with five points each.
