Last Second Win For JV Boys
Dorsey's Trey At Buzzer Lifts Falcons
Things looked bleak Tuesday night for the Colfax High JV boys team in their non-league basketball match-up with visiting Sutter.
Colfax's Matt Larson missed the front end of a one and one free throw situation with three seconds to play and the Falcons trailing the Huskies, 37-36.
But after Larson’s missed free toss careened off the rim and shot out to the baseline corner, Colfax’s Taylor Dorsey chased the loose ball down, turned and fired a shot from that split the nets for the game winner in a 39-37 Colfax win.
Colfax had played a good third quarter and built a 30-23 lead but Sutter’s zone defense slowed the Falcons down in the fourth quarter and the Huskies took advantage to take the lead. Dorsey then came through with his winning shot.
Larson finished with 16 points to lead Colfax. Paul Ramseth followed with 12, Ryan Glazner six and Dorsey five. Colfax, 2-2, plays Whitney today at 5 p.m. in the first round of the Del Oro JV Tournament.
