To the people of the Meadow Vista area benefitting from the fire and rescue service:
As residents of Meadow Vista for 50 years, we feel qualified to encourage support for Measure E for the Meadow Vista Fire District for several reasons.
Repeatedly through the years, our family has benefitted from emergency and paramedic services, whether treating for falls or illnesses and even a chimney fire at one point.
In all of these cases, the response time has been extremely rapid. Paramedics were on the front porch in no more than six minutes. The paramedics have acted with professionalism and empathy to stabilize the situation.
When we moved to Meadow Vista in 1961, the fire department was strictly volunteer. It had an ambulance, but the state took it away from us because the equipment did not meet state health standards. We still do not have an ambulance.
Although AMR sends an ambulance automatically on 911 calls, keeping our local fire and rescue service is a necessity in our rural area.
Keep costs to a minimum by helping us keep our Placer Hills Fire Protection District paramedics and fire crews.
Vote yes! Support Measure E.
