Milder mountain weather revs up Caltrans’ I-80 roadwork

-A +A
Caltrans contractors are moving back onto Interstate 80 to start a new round of improvements. A total of $521 million in construction projects are planned between this spring and next fall on 71 miles of Interstate 80. The work will take place east of Colfax to the Nevada State line. The new round of construction follows work on eight projects totaling more than $420 million in 2009. Caltrans has put up a website to assist motorists traveling over the Sierra Nevada on I-80 during construction season – getacross80.com. The site has detailed project descriptions, live traffic cameras and a signup for e-mail alerts. Drivers can also call 1-877-362-8080 for information. – Gus Thomson
