I was thinking about our current 4-year term for the office of the president.
It seems it takes around 18 months to get his/her feet wet and learn the ropes. Then the last 18 months he/she seem to focus on re-election, thus resulting in a 12-month active and productive president during the first term.
Maybe go to a six-year, one term limit and get someone who can focus on his/her job the remaining five years they are in office? Just a thought.
