A retired Placer County Sheriff’s sergeant donated some important safety items to the department where he has served for more than 25 years. Rocky Warren, who retired from the department in 2003 and continues to work part-time, won a threat-level ballistic helmet and admission to an officer “Street Survival” seminar from Calibre Press. He won the raffle items while attending and teaching at the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association. The department’s Special Enforcement Team will use the ballistic helmet and a deputy will be selected to attend the seminar. “I still want to support my agency and I know they can make good use of the helmet and the class,” Warren said. Sheriff Ed Bonner accepted the donations on behalf of his department. “With our shrinking budget, we truly appreciate donations like this,” Bonner said.
