Trailing 3-0 heading into the third inning, the Sierra Foothills 9-10 All-Stars used the comeback trail to win its opening District 11 All-Star tournament game Tuesday night at Tri-City Little League Park in Rocklin. Sparked by steady pitching from Ben Thompson and a key two-run hit from Jakob Nored, the SFLL All-Stars started its postseason play by rallying for a 10-5 win over Penn Valley. The win for the SFLL 9-10s puts the squad in Thursday’s second round winner’s bracket game against Lincoln. Game time is set for 5 p.m. Sparking the team defense for the winners was infielder Alex Tobiaz who turned in several fine plays. In Wednesday’s action, Grass Valley meets Foresthill at 5 p.m. followed by Rocklin and Auburn at 7:30 p.m.
