Support-Your-High School Fundraising Calendar Mark your calendars for these lively fundraising events to benefit local high schools. All-day event planned Saturday, Oct. 8 Courthouse Athletic Club is sponsoring a full day of events, including a 5K run/walk, a volleyball tournament, a racquetball tournament, a spin-a-thon and a swim-a-thon. The events are open to the public and will benefit not only Placer, but Bear River and Colfax athletic programs as well. Placer High School Thursday, Sept. 22 Placer Snowboard Team, in conjunction with Academy Snowboards, will be hosting a fundraiser at Frontside Café, in Auburn. 15 percent of the proceeds will help fund the team this season. Pick up a coupon that helps direct funds to Placer Snowboard. Raffles and movies are slated from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 Black Oak Golf Course will host a tournament with all proceeds benefiting the Placer football program. Entry fee is $50 and includes nine holes of golf, cart, range balls, dinner and two drink tickets. The tournament will begin at 3 p.m. Sponsorships for holes and adopt-an-athlete programs are available. Raffle prizes are also being collected. For more information, e-mail sagejudy47@gmail.com. Saturday, Oct. 29 The Power Club is hosting a Mardi Gras Dinner and Dance Party. Join the community of Auburn in celebrating the 1st Annual Bourbon Street Style Mardi Gras Dance Party. Break out the beads, beer and balloons. Taste the Cajun cuisines, hear the zydeco and jazz sounds, see the bright colors, live the New Orleans French Quarter life - if just for one night! All proceeds benefit Placer High School Arts and Athletic programs. Pre-sale tickets are $25.00. Ticket price includes: dinner dance party, one raffle ticket and one microbrew beer. Bear River High School The Bear River High School Cross Country Running Team is holding a Free Electronic Waste Drop off Fundraiser. Participants won’t even have to get out of their car. Pop the trunk or open the door and we will unload for you! The event will take place in the Bear River High School parking lot on Saturday, October 1st, from 9 a.m.-1:00 p.m. There is absolutely no cost to the donors. Colfax High School Saturday, Oct. 29 The Colfax High Parents’ Club and Falcon Foundation are joining forces to host a casino night from 7-10:30 p.m. The night of gaming and prizes will include black jack, poker, craps and roulette. Appetizers and desserts will be provided. Drinks will be available at a no-host bar. Tickets sold-out ahead of time last year. Saturday, Jan. 28 The Colfax High School Grad Night committee will host a Crab Feed. The crab feed is an adult evening of food and beverages, dancing, an auction and more. It's a huge amount of fun and the only fundraiser for Grad Night. Crab feed tickets sell out every year, so purchase early. Tickets on sale in October. Del Oro High School Saturday, Sept. 24 An Oktoberfest fundraiser to benefit the Del Oro High football team will be held from 6-11 p.m., at the Blue Goose, in Loomis. Event features dinner, dancing and tastings from Loomis Basin Brewery, the Auburn Alehouse and Gordon Biersch in the Roseville Galleria. Friday, Oct. 21 Del Oro High School will host Cow-Chip Bingo to benefit the athletics and band programs. The event will take place between the JV and Varsity football games. Three cows will be let loose on the field north of the football field. If a cow lets loose on your randomized square, you win a prize. The grand prize is $4,000, plus an extra $1,000 if you are present during bingo. Second prize is $1,000 and third prize is $500. There will also be various $50 prizes. The New Aquatic Center Committee is still hard at work raising funds and planning future fundraisers to see the current six-lane pool in Loomis transformed into an aquatic facility for use by Del Oro High School and the Loomis community. The Kamphefner family presented a $1 million matching pledge to the community. For each dollar raised, a dollar will be matched to the fund for up to $1 million A new Junior Aquatic Committee is also being formed by students.
