The Colfax High School girls soccer team is making its second trip into the revamped CIF Sac-Joaquin Section?s Div. III playoffs, and the Lady Falcons are hoping to change history. The Lady Falcons, fresh off their second consecutive Pioneer Valley League championship and owners of a sparkling 16-1-2 overall season mark, will play at home at 3:30 p.m. next Tuesday against the winner of a first-round game scheduled for today between Rodriguez of Fairfield and Natomas. Colfax coach Lefty Wilks is expecting the Lady Falcons to once again draw Rodriguez, the same team that abruptly ended Colfax?s season last year in the playoffs by a 5-0 count. Rodriguez, a school with an enrollment of 2,200, is the second place team in the Solano County Athletic Conference and is playing its last season at the Div. III level in the playoffs. Next year, the SCAC will move the Div. II for post season action. Colfax has had 13 different players score goals this season, with Celeena Wall (13), Iona Lofrano (11) and Katy Thomas (8) leading the way.
