Many thanks to the wonderful volunteers who helped make our annual Outdoor Quilt Show a success. At 7 a.m. Saturday morning, a half-dozen Calfire workers arrived with their tall ladders and positive spirits to help hang the beautiful quilts along Main Street. Local residents David Woodford, Anne Paulson, and Larry Hampel, who also climbed ladders and ferried quilts along Main Street, helped make the job go smoothly and quickly. On hand during the day to answer quilting queries and talk about the quilts were local white-glovers Kristi Parnham and Carla Elizarraraz. Thanks also go out to the generous local businesses who participated in the show: Antiques & Stuff, Basement Wines, Bear River Trading Company, Colfax Market, Evangeline’s, The Hair Studio, Main Street Pizza, Marson’s, Old Colfax Pharmacy Café, Ranch House Café, Robinson Realty, and Sierra Market. Finally, heartfelt thanks to the 34 gifted and wonderful quilt makers, who shared their talents and love of the craft with us for the day. The winning entries are Anna Polk, Winners Bouquet; Brenda Foster, Pirates Treasure; Dottie Blackmore, Project Scraps; Evangeline Elston/Sharon Gieras, Midnight Cowboy; Gertrude Paul, Wool Patchwork; Karen McBrayer, Peaceful Harbor; Karen Meyer, Miners Peacock; Karen Woodford, Tahoe Skyline; Kristi Parnham, Turning Twenty; Regina Hopley, Texas Lone Star; and Kathy Burchert, Sampler. A list of all the entrants and winners is posted at The Whistle Stop. Suzanne McGuire, Whistle Stop Quilt Shop Teri Andrews-Murch, Lyon Real Estate Rebecca Martinez, Blue Cat Studio
