The Weimar Hills girls 7th grade basketball team saved its best for last. Parlaying a strong offense with tough defense, the Lady Warriors avenged their lone loss of a 13-1 season by handily disposing of Seven Hills of Nevada City, 36-14, in last Saturday's championship game of the Nevada County Athletic League tournament played at Bear River High. "The girls did a great job," said Weimar Hills coach Bill Shinn. "They really had a fine effort in the championship game just like they've done all year." Weimar Hills had captured the NCAL regular season crown with an 11-1 record, it's lone loss coming to Seven Hills. The Lady Warriors had defeated Forest Lake Christian in the semi-final round while Seven Hills bested Magnolia. In the 8th grade division, Union Hill defeated Magnolia in the championship game while Weimar Hills topped Forest Lake for third.
