July 1

Colfax resident Stephanie Pearson found an illegal firework near Sherwood Court and turned it over to Deputy Don Bohn at a Colfax business on Canyon Way.

Deputy Bohn turned the Jumbo M5000 firework over to a member of the Placer County Sheriff’s Explosive Ordinance Team in Auburn. It was placed in storage until it can be safely destroyed.

June 30

Deputy Don Bohn responded to a disturbance call at a Main Street business and arrested a Chicago Park man and a woman from Grass Valley on outstanding Placer County warrants.

Brian Canole, a resident of Chicago Park, was taken into custody for failure to appear.

Pamela Jennings, a resident of Grass Valley, had a warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Both individuals were transported to the Placer County Jail for booking.

Deputy Matt Bourland found Kenneth Roundtree at a Colfax residence and took him into custody on an outstanding warrant from Nevada County.

Roundtree was transported to the Placer county Jail.

June 29

Deputy Matt Bourland and Resident Deputy Ryan Owens contacted Derek Nix, a resident of Colfax, at a Canyon Way gas station concerning a court order violation reported to the Sheriff’s Office.

He was taken into custody for criminal threats and the violation of a court order and transported to the Placer County Jail for booking.

Colfax resident Candice Collins was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after Deputy Jason Doolittle stopped her on a vehicle code violation on Highway 174 near Lazzarini Road.

She was transported to Placer County Jail.

June 28

Resident Deputy Mike Seipert responded to a citizen report of a dangerous driver at a gas station on Canyon Way. At the station, Deputy Seipert contacted Kevin Harris, of Auburn.

A records check revealed an outstanding Placer County warrant for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Harris was taken into custody and transported the Placer county Jail for booking.

Jared Noxon, a resident of Sacramento, turned himself into Resident Deputy Mike Seipert at the Colfax Substation for an outstanding Placer County Warrant for domestic violence and resisting arrest.

He was transported to the Placer County Jail for booking.

June 27

Nevada resident Lori Stout-Lewame was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being stopped by Deputy Jason Doolittle on Interstate 80 just west of the South Canyon Way onramp.

She was transported to Placer County Jail for booking.

June 25

Deputies Rich Gray and Matt Bourland took possession of a loaded, silenced 22-caliber rifle from a Grass Valley resident at the Carpenter Range off Carpenter Road.

A criminal report was filed and submitted to the District Attorney’s office for possible prosecution.

June 21

Resident Deputy Seipert and Deputy Hudson contacted Damon Glenn, a resident of Colfax, at the Colfax Ball Park following a report of a physical disturbance.

Deputy Seipert suspected Glenn was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was also unable to provide information about a fight.

The deputies transported Glenn to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later transported to the Placer County Jail for booking.
