Annual lighting of the Pigeon Point Light House

Pigeon Point Light House

Pigeon Point light house is between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. The operators light this lens once a year to display one of the most spectacular Fresnel lenses in any light house. It normally has a very long beam structure which is enhanced by the fog or moisture in the air but the night air had almost no moisture and very clear. So the beams look relativeliy short this time around. (See one of my earlier posts by using keyword "canyonhiker" or "Pigeon" in the search field above.) The plus side of this clear night was the stars showing through nicely. The bright star above to the left is actually a planet; Venus.

See all of my posts. Go to Placeropolis and type in the key word, canyonhiker.
